They are now popping up all over the U.S. including Arkansas. It makes sense. We have gorgeous canopies too.1Buffalo River Canopy Tour (Ponca)This was the first zip line tour in Arkansas and a few of my friends have been on it. The Buffalo River is one of my favorite spots in Arkansas, and the zip line goes through the canopy of the hardwood forest in Ponca. The The zip line is hosted by the Buffalo Outdoor Center. It's for guests ages 10+ and who weigh between 70 and 250 lbs. The tour averages 2 hours. The cost is $89 per person, but you must have a group of four to schedule a tour. 1-800-221-5514.via buffaloriver.com2Loco Ropes (Mountain View)Loco Ropes, in Mountain View, is not just a zip line course. It has also has some climbing and other obstacles. They call themselves a "thrilling high wire adventure rope course with 3 different segments totaling 30+ challenges to test your nerve, endurance, agility and strength." It's located at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. You must be at least 43 inches tall and weigh less than 290 pounds. The cost is about $7.50 for the 300 foot zip line, or $50 for the entire course. 870-269-6566.via locoropes.com3Zippin Griffin (Hardy)The Zippin Griffin is a a 5 thousand foot zip line located at Griffin Park in Hardy, AR. It just opened in 2012, and I have no experience with it, but the initial Facebook reviews seem to be positive. It claims to be the longest zip line in Arkansas. The zip line has 5 sections, the longest being 1800 feet. The longest section passes over the Spring River at speeds up to 55 mph (depending on your weight). Their weight limit is 275 lbs. The tours range from $50. 870-856-4743via zippingriffin.com4The Zip Lines and Ouachita Bend (Hot Springs)This zip line is new in 2012 too. It has 7 different lines. The three-hour tour combines zip lining and hiking. You need a group of at least 6. You must weigh a minimum of 100 pounds to a maximum of 275 pounds.
