Little Rock Central High is known all over the world for the groundbreaking desegregation battle that took place there in 1957. Today, the school is a functioning high school and a national historic site with a museum and sculpture garden. The visitor center is hosted inside a replica period gas station and contains photographs and information about the site’s history.
Sculpture Garden:
The sculpture garden is really two arches you can walk through. The arches are decorated with photographs of Central’s history. Benches are provided so people can sit and reflect on the meaning of the arches.
Where:
The visitor center and the school are located on 2125 W Daisy L Gatson Bates Drive. The center is across the street from the school. If you walk across from the school’s north side, you can see the sculpture garden.

The school does allow tours but they must be set up in advance. Please remember this is a functioning high school with real students and treat it with respect!
