Family Friendly Halloween Events and Alternatives to Trick-or-Treating

Magic Screams: Halloween at Magic Springs (Hot Springs) KF
Magic Springs and Crystal Falls
Weekends October 6-28
Visit spooky haunted attractions, walk the scary trail and take a spin on the rides. For young goblins, enjoy a scare-free zone for pumpkin painting, family Halloween themed movies and more. 501-318-5309. Admission: $29.99 one-day admission. There are contests for costumes, screams and more.

Boo At the Zoo (LR)*
October 18 (members), October 19 (adults), October 24-27, 29, 30-31 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Little Rock Zoo, 1 Zoo Drive
Bring your little goblins out and let them trick-or-treat, ride the haunted train, tour the Haunted House, ride the carnival rides and enjoy the delicious food within the safety of the Zoo. Everyone gets tickts which can be used for trick-or-treating, zombie paintball, carnival games or smores.  501-666-2406 ext. 103.  Admission: $10/15 in advance, $15/20 at the door.  Everyone gets an armband for all ride attractions. On October 21, Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz will be there and tickets are $50.

Big Booseum Bash (LR)*
October 25, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
All Over Downtown
Downtown museums organize the Big Booseum Bash, a safe trick-or-treating environment. Each location will have candy available for young trick-or-treaters, as well as fun, hands-on activities. 501-255-3300. Admission: Free

Halloween Skate at the Arkansas Skatium (LR)
October 26, 7:30-11 p.m.
1311 S. Bowman Road
Costume contest and themed skate with games, prizes and candy.  It is only $10 if you are wearing a costume.

Petit Jean Halloween Fest (Morrilton)
October 27
Petit Jean State Park
Costumes are encouraged to go along with fun, nature-themed activities.

Halloween Hayride at Pinnacle Mountain State Park (Roland)
October 27
Pinnacle Mountain State Park
A fun hayride with campfire at the state park. Advanced reservations are required. Admission is $15. 501-868-5806.
